Jacobsen beer by Carlsberg
June 8, 2007 – 11:41 amYesterday I stumbled upon Jacobsen beer.
Is it a coincidence that the founder of Carlsberg was a Jacobsen? I think not.
Check out Carlsberg for some history, but in summary:
J.C. Jacobsen demanded quality above all else and his innovations in the art of making beer laid the cornerstone of the modern brewing industry.
I’ve tracked down some Jacobsen Dark Lager (Munich Dunkel Lager) and Jacobsen Saaz Blonde (Belgian Strong Pale Ale) through my favorite purveyor of fine wines, spirits & malt beverages, Lukas Liquor. I picked some up last night and the comes in 750 ml bottles and costs about $7 per bottle. At 5.8%-7% ABV they are consistent with other beers in this category.
The bottle for the Jacobsen beers manufactured by Carlsberg’s Danish microbrewery has been awarded the Danish Design Prize 2007. The Danish Design Prize 2007 was given for Jacobsen beer’s bottle, label, logo, typography and choice of colour.
Beer Advocate lists reviews of several other Jacobsen beers that weren’t listed on the website.
I’ll let you know how my review stacks up against the other reviews.
Maybe I can even convince Sara over at http://beergirlsblog.blogspot.com/ to review a few bottles.

Where can I buy Jacobsen Beer online?
By Jennifer Jacobsen on Jul 12, 2007
As it turns out, Lukas, the store I mentioned above, had it in stock.
I’ve looked online before and haven’t been able to find it. Your best chance is to find a local import beer store and see if they can get it.
There is also a “Where to Buy” link on the JacobsenBeer.com website that lists an email address and directions.
I emailed them with my state, city and zipcode before I found a store locally that had it, and they provided contact information for a distributor in the area.
Hope that helps.

I’m in. :) Lukas is one of the best stores to find random beer and wines. I owe some Texas beers first to someone who actually brought me beer, in a cooler, all the way from Austin !!! Then I swear I will add these to my list. Always need new stuff. :)
