The Spice Girls leave their fate to the community
July 31, 2007 – 9:06 amHas hell frozen over? Do I really have a post about the Spice Girls?
This post isn’t to discuss their “music”, if you want to call it that, but like Barney, the Spice Girls have a passionate anti-Spice Girls following. People that do everything within their power to try and bring them down. They have record sales in the region of 55 million, so they must have some fans out there somewhere.
The Spice Girls, in order to bring their music to the world, decided to host a poll on their site to determine where they would play:
Don’t forget if we haven’t announced a date near to you, you can still vote for your City to become “SPICE CITY”. For one night only, exactly where we perform is down to you and your votes…we are literally in your hands!
Thanks again for your fantastic support, we can’t wait to get out on tour and see you all.
Well, when the anti-Spice Girls crew got a hold of that, they posted it to Digg to try and vote some unfriendly places to the top of the list. Who wouldn’t want to play in Baghdad, Iraq or Pyongyang, North Korea?
Keep in mind that when you open yourself up for community feedback, you are going to get feedback from passionate people on both sides of the fence.
If nothing else, their promotions team has been successful in getting the word out, because why else would we be talking about it?
