Bill Gate’s last day at Microsoft - transitioning to other projects
January 7, 2008 – 10:22 amWhether you love or hate Bill Gates and Microsoft, there is no disputing their impact on the software industry and our culture as a whole. Bill Gates is worth about 56 billion, according to Wikipedia. Plenty of cash to throw around and make some things happen.
In the summer of 2006, Bill Gates announced he would be changing roles in 2008.
..”Bill Gates, chairman, will transition out of a day-to-day role in the company to spend more time on his global health and education work at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The company announced a two-year transition process to ensure that there is a smooth and orderly transfer of Gates’ daily responsibilities, and said that after July 2008 Gates would continue to serve as the company’s chairman and an advisor on key development projects.”
Bill Gates gave his final Microsoft keynote at the 2008 CES show in Las Vegas. I have to give Bill and Microsoft credit for the hilarious retirement video that includes more celebrities than a National Enquirer.
