		<description>This idea always baffles me - it seems that most companies, in any threat of crisis, immediately resort to survival mode. 

Not that what Wall Street thinks on a day-to-day basis matters a whole lot to me, but I don&#039;t know of many companies that can focus on simply existing and continue to grow revenue and/or beat earnings expectations.

It&#039;s called an investment because there is associated risk involved. We get it. They&#039;re scared. What these companies don&#039;t realize, though, is that they&#039;re defaulting to the bigger risk of assuming some startup with a great product isn&#039;t going to come along and wipe them off the map.</description>
