“On average, small banner ads on mobile devices produce the same level of brand recall as the typical 30-second TV spot.”

“The banner ads work really well, and that’s where you have the greatest reach,” Marshall said, adding that she “was blown away” by IAG data showing they were on par with TV spots in terms of brand recall. (IAG used the same method for measuring brand recall that it does with TV ads.) Mobile banner ads also produce click-through rates that are “exponentially higher than online” banner ads, where CTR has fallen to about 0.3%; mobile banners produce an overall click-through rate of 2%, even “slightly higher for entertainment brands.” [via]

I’ve been talking with Paul over at Stampkit about Google search results recently.

We all know that Google results is important to the success of a site. Sure, there is more to life than organic search, but it sure doesn’t hurt to come up in the top results.

In the US, Google owns about 2/3 of the search market:

In some places like France, Google owns about 90% of the search market.

Google alone may account for 10-30% of the traffic to a site, depending on the category:

Also, it is interesting to search for your own name and see what you find. I like to do this occasionally to see what turns up.

Your Google results say quite a bit about your personality. When you search for my name, the majority of the results link back to related content, although some of it refers to another Dustin Jacobsen impostor (will the real Dustin Jacobsen please stand up).

What do your Google results say about you? What about your organization and your clients / brands? And I’m sure all the posts aren’t positive, and thats ok.

PS – We are interviewing for several open positions right now. If you are interviewing, be sure to check your own Google results. It makes for an interesting conversation, especially if you have a common name and stumble upon some interesting stuff.
